We are delighted to announce that following months of innovated research and a series of successful operational trials, Hastec Rail have been awarded a contract to fit its Collision Avoidance System (CAS) onto a number of Network Rail pieces of road rail plant.
Our state of the art system has been designed to integrated into the vehicle control system, it encompasses an embedded vehicular functionality to limit both work site and travel mode speeds. In addition to these safety features, the system comprises of an enhanced visual and non-visual monitoring system which is capable of detecting obstacles in the direction of travel via an exclusion zone radar and camera. On detection of an obstacles the vehicle applies the brakes and safely bring the vehicle to a controlled stop.

This innovative system has been developed in conjunction with our business partner and plant specialist Elmec Rail Solutions. As a result of this success, this innovative safety system will be fitted onto all Elmec RRV plant within their hire fleet.
